Re: GPSDO Tutorial?

...the two GPSDO's are moving in different directions at slow but similar speeds it can't be the oscillator causing that. Either one or both of the GPSDOs is either broken or a bad design. It's as simple as that. I have two GPSDOs here, an older BG7TBL unit (Chinese, from eBay), and one from Leo Bo...

Re: GPSDO accuracy and what the satellites are doing

Tests that I've done imply that the 10MHz signals from the GPS satellites are changing frequency randomly by small amounts. I can assure you this is not the case. I have been deeply involved with the GPS and, in particular, GPS time and frequency standards, since before GPS reached it's Initial Ope...

Re: Anan 7000 DLE MKI Firmware ugrade problems.

I'm confused. First you write: Downloaded the file. 1019_Metis_Orion_MkII_Protocol_2_v2.0b.zip. Then you write: Metis_Orion_MkIII_Protocol_2_v2.1.26c.rbf...That is what I programmed. Which is it? Or did you try both? Four things to consider: 1. If Bootloader runs OK, then you did not brick the unit,...

Re: G2 (no Screen) PTT IN/OUT Question

Download the manual from the front page of the Apache website (https://apache-labs.com/) and Page 12 should answer all your questions.

Short answer is "yes".

Re: Monitor: 60Hz vs 144Hz

With the bottleneck being the FFT processing, it's unlikely you can get Thetis to run much faster than 60Hz at 384KHz or larger IF bandwidth. Thus a faster display is wasted on Thetis, but you may find it valuable for gaming.

It would probably be better to switch it to a 50 ohm load when not in use.

Re: Tx out of band ???

I took a look at the problem this morning and it definitely appears to be a bug. Selecting "extended" allows Thetis to go into transmit mode but no RF power is produced. This is in contrast to the behavior when extended mode is not selected whereby Thetis will not even go into transmit mod...

Not 100% certain of what you are trying to say, but just in case it is relevant there is no bias voltage (phantom power) available on the G2 balanced TRS mic input.

Re: External feedback level calculations

PureSignal can use the entire range of the step attenuator, which is 0 to 31 dB in 1 dB steps.

However, remember not to exceed +13 dBm at the rear panel input to avoid the risk of damaging something.

Re: External feedback level calculations

Unfortunately I don't know what the coupling factor is for the internal coupler.

From a linearity and measurement accuracy perspective +/-1dB is pretty good for the hardware we've got.

Re: External feedback level calculations

Hi Tom, The only way to know for certain what's what is to get some trustworthy (calibration you are confident of) test equipment and start making measurements. Measure the output of the coupler. Put a calibrated signal into the ANAN and run the level calibration routine. Then put that calibrated si...

MIDI controllers normally only connect to one app at a time. First app wins. For instance, I am able to use my Hercules DJControl Compact with both Thetis and Voicemeeter but not at the same time. However, as you might expect, people have come up with solutions for this very obvious limitation. I do...

Re: Usefulness of A-10 TAPR upgrade/accessories?

Wow, I'm surprised these can still be purchased! I don't have an ANAN-10, but I do have a 100D and it also required a similar modification for good PureSignal performance. I built my own version. IMHO the TR-Plus is a worthy accessory. It's definitely necessary for PureSignal because the older desig...

Re: How to ground Anan A-10E?

Yep, put a lug under a screw is pretty much all you can do. Or you can add your own ground lug.

If you want to get super serious about grounding you can also go through the exercise of removing any paint on the case where the ends meet the main extrusion so that there is good contact between the two.

Re: Automatic ID feature built into Thetis

That's a good SSB solution as long as the ID is issued reasonably close to the 10-minute marker in the queue. Even if the timer is queued, it may require waiting well beyond ten minutes to ID after a long-winded op finishes. That's what I meant by "spirit of the law". If you are in a long...

Re: Automatic ID feature built into Thetis

I'm with Gary on this. ID should not transmit at a time of it's own choosing. Perhaps the solution to this is to simply queue up an ID for transmission and indicate to the operator an ID is pending. Then the next time the operator transmits the ID will be transmitted. IMHO that would be good enough,...

So for Winwrabler, I just choose the Input as Voicemeeter AUX Input And for output Voicemeeter Out B3 Then Send B1 to B3 and B3 to B1 Correct. One mistake. If you wish to use strip B3 "Voicemeeter VAIO3" for Winwarbler then... For input choose Voicemeeter VAIO3 Input. The rest is correct....

Re: Hermes Lite, Thetis, UMC 202HD, VM Potato and WSJT no audio

Nuno, Now that you've apparently got WSJT-X working, the rest is easy. Voicemeeter will happily allow more than one application to share a channel strip if they are not using ASIO. Since none of the digi mode app's use ASIO, you can simply set them all up like WSJT-X and run them all on channel stri...

So the problem had nothing to do with the G2 itself. It's seems simply a coincidence. It was difficult to imagine how running at 12.9V could cause any problems.
