How does that meet your requirement, Mike? All you need is the disable PTT part.
In fact, why not just use an external switch? Or an external switch controlled by an OC output. Or an external switch controlled by a DDUtil macro button.

Re: A "jangling" artifact on TX and RX audio, related to filter size?
The other thing to consider is that this setting is much less important on transmit. As mentioned above, at 1024 the skirts are already much steeper than any other radio out there save the Flex. You are not going to look or sound bad at 1024 transmit. So you can knock that setting down to minimum on...

Re: A "jangling" artifact on TX and RX audio, related to filter size?
Buffer size should have nothing to do with this issue. It would be good if you would confirm that is the case. What this is really about is the transient response of the filter skirts. This is not ringing per se, but it is a time domain, transient response issue. There are three things that cause tr...

Re: RX2 not same signal level as RX1
Mike, If you've been following the above examples, in every case the problem was a hardware failure of some sort. N4XD did not report a lower noise floor, he reported lower signal levels. Is that what you are seeing? Assuming you've done your part in identically configuring both paths in the softwar...

Hi Scott DDUtil last version is for use with Flex Radios and the last versions only work with the signature series (6xxx). To enjoy DDUtil with Flex legacy or Anan radios with Power SDR or Thetis you must install a version prior to version 3.2.5.xx. (DDUtil_V3) This drive control may be set by band...

Re: Coupler Solutions
How important is it to have a directional coupler like the Xtronic unit? Theoretically a directional coupler will provide better results because there is no reverse power component carried back to the PureSignal receiver. However, I don't know if anyone has ever determined whether or not the differ...

The DDUtil "autodrive" feature can be very handy for this sort of thing. You may wish to take a look at that. If you are not familiar, DDUtil is a "helper" program that has all kinds of useful talents. See here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3040

Re: Thetis Macro(s)
DDUtil will not be able to do this for you. You could write a script in something like Python or Java that automates this, sending the correct sequence of CAT commands and recording the results. However, you are in luck, because a tool already exists that can do this: SWR Plotter . You will need com...

Re: IMPORTANT UPDATE/DO NOT USE: 7000DLE fan noise fix
If it's the PWM "rattle" that's bothering you, simply rewire the fan directly to 12V. If it's the fan itself you might do a little better with a slightly quieter fan. Others will have to suggest what make/model to get, I can't guide you there. If that's still not good enough then you will ...

The hardware will come with P1 firmware preinstalled. That will work with either PowerSDR or Thetis.

Re: Coupler Solutions
Short answer - maximum PS feedback level is set by the no damage max. input level to the hardware, which is +13dBm. - minimum PS feedback levels needs to stay above -10dBm, below that PS performance will suffer. However higher input levels will provide better SNR vs. internal crosstalk; this is more...

Re: Transmit Audio Monitoring Suggestions
Unless you are one of those humans who is immune to listening to an echo of themselves, it is effectively impossible to do what you want because of the latencies (delays) inherent in the openHPSDR software architecture. If you eliminate all audio processing in Thetis/PowerSDR: limiter, pre and post ...

Mark, You can reduce your latency by quite a bit and probably get a better sounding solution by using better tools. You've got a good, ASIO capable interface, so the foundation is there! Use Voicemeeter Potato to tie everything together so that you can use ASIO. Play with Voicemeeter and the Behring...

Re: Noise Burst on initial transmit
It is extraordinarily hard for me to believe that any Windows sound interface would generate 90 or 200ms of delay. That is what would be required to fit the evidence. There must be something else wrong somewhere. What happens if you use the motherboard sound interface instead of the Soundblaster car...

Re: 8000DLE control of SPE 1K-FA
You can obtain CAT control of an SPE amp either directly from PowerSDR/Thetis or via DDUtil (make sure you use an older version that still supports legacy software--newer versions only support SmartSDR) as long as you have your serial cable built properly.

The output of the sound card is fed into an integrated stereo amplifier. We I turned the volume on the amp down the sound disappeared completely. Turned it up and it's there. Wit the sound off on the stereo amp, I increased the sound output via RX1 on the Thetis UI. The noise is completely gone. Th...
