Hi Richie! Great to see you posting again!

I wonder if it is possibly related to this problem: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3711&p=13637&hilit=Filter#p13637

On the 8000 you remove the coax jumper on the PS connectors and apply the external coupler signal to the PS Input connector.

Re: CAT issues on 7000DLE MK2+WSJTx+Expert 1.5K

There is no difference between CAT and CAT+ instances, as your experiments showed. That is a very strange problem. There must be some incompatibility with the way the amp and WSJT-X implement the Kenwood CAT protocol. You might try connecting to the amp via DDUtil. So that would have another virtual...

Re: CAT issues on 7000DLE MK2+WSJTx+Expert 1.5K

You do not need any splitters. Since you've gotten connections to WSJT-X and the SPE amp working separately there appears to be no problem with your cables or your understanding of serial port settings. Therefore I'm guessing that you do not realize that there are four (4) separate CAT instances ava...

Slowly tracking around is normal. That's from ionospheric induced Doppler. Can you post a video of that?

Assuming the radio is now ok it may be that you have a virtual audio problem to solve.

What kind of amp is it? Acom amps have a known problem with two tone.

VAC settings are stored as part of your transmit profile. Just save a profile with the settings you want. You may wish to turn off the automatic profile save features in order to prevent unintended changes.

You do not need to run as admin.

Ah, totally forgot about the TCXO upgrade board for the 100D. Absolutely worth the upgrade. It gets you a 100ppb TCXO and automatic switching. Without it you'd have to go inside and move jumpers to use the GPSDO. All the info, schematic and photos of the board are right here: https://apache-labs.com...

Re: 7000 receiver s meter calibration

The noise floor you are seeing of S2 on the S-meter with no antenna connected is correct. You might be able to get it a little more accurate by performing a proper level calibration with a calibrated external signal generator, but there is nothing grossly wrong with a level of close to S2 with an u...

Frank, You can't just look at what's in the cal. factor box and assume all it good because it says "1.000..." If I understand Tony's suggestion properly, it is that you actually have to go through the freq. cal. process and see if the result is 1.0. If you did not go through the freq. cal....

Re: Distorted tx-audio on TX-Profile change

Since the problem is sporadic, it is difficult to determine what exactly is causing it. I can switch profiles 10-20 times without a problem. But sometimes the problem just arises. That is important information. It seemed like you were describing a problem that happened every single time you switche...

Re: Distorted tx-audio on TX-Profile change

Sorry, I forgot you were using VAC. Of course you are, since there was a separate, lengthy thread on your setup. Whenever you change any setting in the VAC control panel it will reset all VAC operations. This is why changing the sample rate works. However that is an ugly way of performing a reset. I...

Re: Audio popping on strong SSB signal

Phil, Try lowering the sampling rate to 192KHz with Protocol 2 and see what happens. If things get better with P2 at 192KHz then it is most likely a CPU thread blocking problem. If they don't get better it could be a firmware issue and/or a network bottleneck of some kind. Then try Protocol 1 firmwa...

As already discussed in this topic, both will work, but each requires different cabling. I use the port labeled PC, Gary uses the other one.

Did you adjust the settings in the amp properly for band control?

Have you checked the fuses in the amp?

Tim, I don't have one, but looking at the manual it would appear all that you need to do is follow the directions: make a cable to go from the KEY1 output to the 7000 key input, set up Thetis for straight keying, and off you go. What have you done so far that is not working? If you've made a cable p...

Re: Thetis to KPA500 band data

Gary--yes, it's bidirectional. However, in your case you don't really need to do that unless all 4 CAT port assignments in Thetis are already in use, i.e. you need a 5th. Just use one port per app.

Re: Thetis to KPA500 band data

There is an alternative to making two serial cable connections to the KPA500. Tom already has the KPA Utility app running which means the cable between the PC and the KPA500 already exists and is working just fine. You can install some virtual serial port software that allows more than one app to co...

Not having a 10E I'm not 100% certain about disassembly steps. However, if it is anything like a -100 series, the output amplifier FETs are fastened to the chassis housing which it uses as a heat sink. Simple remove the fasteners on the FETs and the rest of the PA board and lift the board off of the...

As I mentioned previously, those Focusrite drivers are not the best.

My Presonus Studio 192 allows me to run 48KHz with a buffer size of 64.
