Re: GPSDO Tutorial?

There would appear to be a new, even less expensive, Chinese designed and produced GPSDO on the eBay marketplace now: https://farm1.staticflickr.com/952/27801195098_4848701e57_o.jpg I have no technical details, and don't know anyone using one, yet, but I'm guessing it uses a steerable TCXO as oppose...

Does it do this with the "normal" firmware, Jeff?

Re: "Sticking" Relay on ADC 1 and 2 Receive

Gary,

Go to the "schematics" sub-forum and download one of the PA/RF board schematics to understand the implementation in hardware. It doesn't matter which one, they are all similar.

Re: "Sticking" Relay on ADC 1 and 2 Receive

This has been a problem on every rig since the ANAN-100. The problem is multi-fold: 1. The method used does not demonstrate a high level of signal integrity. Current firmware writes the registers more than once in order to minimize the chance of missed bits. However this is a faulty approach because...

S-meter standard reference levels

S-meter standard reference levels : The S-meter standard reference levels are defined by IARU Region 1 Technical Recommendation R.1, as ratified at both the Brighton 1981 and Torrelmolinos 1990 meetings. This standardization is documented as follows: STANDARDISATION OF S-METER READINGS 1. One S-uni...

Re: Phase Relationship between VFO A and VFO B

Again correct, Mike. However the relevant code is identical across all models with dual ADC's. Given identical conditions the behavior will be the same, plus or minus the random phase effects.

Re: Phase Relationship between VFO A and VFO B

When in "diversity" (really coherent beam forming) mode there is no requirement to use, nor should you be manipulating, VFO B. Indeed, the RX2 function is disabled in this mode. Tuning VFO A may or may not change the phase relationship between the two DDCs thereby often necessitating retun...

Re: "Virtual Microphone Systems"

The whole concept of "virtual microphones" is based on the premise that the primary difference in microphones is one of frequency response. This is a premise that I wholeheartedly subscribe to and agree with. The desire to use different microphones comes from the desire to essentially do y...

Re: Problem with UMC 404 and VMB

"Restart audio engine" doesn't work? This definitely sounds like a VMB related issue not associated with PowerSDR specifically. It almost seems like the Behringer drivers are loading after VMB starts. Try setting VMB so it does not automatically start with Windows, then after Windows is fu...

The change you noted is not relevant.

Check what firmware version it is reporting in Setup and then check it against the firmware versions here:

Re: Resampler causes crash

Buck, If you don't already have them, get yourself a high quality wireless keyboard and mouse, preferably in the 2.4GHz band. I prefer Logitech. I had a very similar problem at my old QTH and solved it with a Logitech MK710 keyboard/mouse kit. That mouse has Logitech's "hyperscroll" featur...

Re: Resampler causes crash

Buck,

Please post screen shots of your settings for both VAC1 and VAC2, as well as the settings in your Behringer control panel.

Which resampler is causing the crash, VAC1 or VAC2? If you run each one separately does it work ok?

To connect your radio directly to your PC, choose and configure a static IP on your PC network interface. Then use Bootloader as described above to set a static IP in the radio in the same subnet.
