Re: Rx2 on Anan8000 DLE

It would be more helpful if you would adjust the scaling on RX2 so that the average noise floor was near the bottom, and the peak of the signal was not off scale at the top, but, no, it does not look normal.

Into a dummy load I'm getting approx. 140dB of isolation on 10M with 30W out.

Re: 8000DLE serial number label

My serial number tag just lays on the shelf below the radio :D It's a lower serial number than yours, so no help there. Perhaps we can estimate how many total ANAN owners there are. There are not quite 1700 members of the Yahoo Group. Figure only two thirds of them actually have radios. And there ar...

Re: Rx2 on Anan8000 DLE

It sounds correct, Rob. There is only so much isolation in the relay that grounds the input. I don't know what that specification is, but it's probably not all that great, maybe 60dB? You'd have to know how much power is coming out of the loop during TX to make a judgement as to whether my 60dB valu...

Re: ANAN-7000DLE Update

I don't have any Fabio. Emailing the factory might be your best bet. However, looking at the TAPR repository, there have been three releases of Orion Mk II firmware in the last 10 days. So development activity is high. That's either good news (bugs are being squashed rapidly) or bad news (there are ...

PowerSDR mRX PS 3.4.4 Released

PowerSDR mRX PS 3.4.4 has been released. This release primarily addresses some bugs in 3.4.3 that could cause crashes. See the very bottom of the release notes for more information.

Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface

Did you restart your system after installing TouchOSC bridge? Then did you start TouchOSC bridge before PowerSDR? If you did both of these things, then: a) You will see TouchOSC bridge running in your system tray (the "B" icon), b) When you do start PowerSDR, and go to Setup > CAT Control ...

Hi Gary, You've got way more antennas than I do, but I recently put up a second antenna, and I find myself switching between the two quite often. In addition to all of the features you sold the dev's on :) I would love to see a menu bar addition named "Antenna", right next to Diversity, th...

Re: What form is IQ VAC?

Very cool, Walter. I did not realize you could be your own DRM format pirate radio ;) Maximum conventional TX SSB bandwidth in PowerSDR mRX is 20KHz. If you can get that to work with DRM, I'd recommend using "single calibrate" mode in PureSignal with the two-tone signal centered in the 20K...

Re: TouchOSC custom tablet MIDI control surface

Prem, There are no detailed tutorials that I'm aware of. I made a couple of Youtube videos about a year ago. They are both getting a little dated. However you probably will find them helpful. They essentially show that, from the radio side, configuring PowerSDR to use a MIDI controller, whether it i...

Re: Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard Sluggish

Gotcha, maintenance only, that makes sense :) I couldn't be bothered to provision a keyboard and mouse for my homebrew Pi controller. I maintain it by using MobaXterm and VNC. That way wherever it is in the house I don't even have to find it, move it or sit down in front of it. Plus I have my triple...

Re: Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard Sluggish

Great news! :) Personally, I feel that using a mouse and keyboard with a Pi defeats the purpose of the appliance-like form factor. Once you've got the Pi so encumbered you might as well be using a small Windows laptop. And if you are using a small Windows laptop then you might as well use PowerSDR s...

Re: VAC SIGNAL NOT STEADY

The fact that fiddling around with different combinations fixes (temporarily) the problem suggests that there may be a sequencing/timing problem associated with the start-up of VAC1. In any event, hopefully this problem will be addressed in a future release of HPSDR. While I 100% agree that it is n...

Hi Scott so the line in/out appear at the DE9 connector on the back panel... Is that really what you read? Maybe you should go back and read my post again... Where do I find a reading of the pin out...I guess we don't have a schematic on the 8000 as yet?? https://apache-labs.com/community/viewtopic...

Re: ANAN 7000 DLE Line Out

Bill, Line in works fine. Of course only the left input does anything given the way the software works. Line out works, but, again, the signals only make it as far as the header connector on the Orion MkII board. They are not carried out from that connector via the breakout board and therefore do no...

Re: What form is IQ VAC?

There are at least two programms i know, Multipsk and Dream DRM. But my main interest would be the use of IQ-TX in my own DSP programming experiments. Walter, AFAIK, MultiPSK and Dream only receive IQ, they do not transmit it. Looking carefully at the PowerSDR settings, it does not seem like it can...

Re: VAC SIGNAL NOT STEADY

Stu,

If a problem with the Ethernet link was the culprit, then you would hear these dropouts on speakers/headphones plugged into the radio. If you don't hear the problems there, then it can safely be assumed to be associated with VAC functionality and not Ethernet functionality.

It's kind of sad. ...

Re: In case you missed it: PowerSDR mRX OpenHPSDR v 3.4.3

Checking the "Do Not TX" boxes causes the corresponding transmit antenna selector buttons to be grayed out so that they cannot be accidentally selected for transmit. You can see those grayed out buttons on your example. It's an additional safety feature. It's not foolproof (and I don't und...
