Re: Receiver audio distortion

Gary, I cannot understand what you find lacking in the definition of "non-blocking" as the term is used for computer networking, but I suppose that's probably irrelevant. The data sheet I found shows your switch provides up to 10Gbps non-blocking performance on its backplane, which should ...

Re: Receiver audio distortion

Gary, Here's the search I used: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=non-blocking+gigabit+switch The very first hit for me is the Netgear 8 port switch: https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Ethernet-Unmanaged-Internet-Splitter/dp/B00KFD0SYK which, if you look at the spec's, clearly says "non-blocking". Th...

Re: Receiver audio distortion

Dave, You need a "non-blocking" gigabit Ethernet switch. A non-blocking switch will deliver wireline speeds between any two ports regardless of what the other ports are doing. Such switches need not be expensive. There is a Netgear 8 port GigE non-blocking switch on Amazon for under $20. I...

Here's an idea: perhaps you should all get together, and Richie, too (see this topic), and create a Github repo where you can all share code, etc. Doug, W5WC, who has managed each release since the dawn of time, typically doesn't work that way, but you gents can. It's the modern age of development, ...

Re: Visual studio / software questions & input

Joe, That's an interesting request. My first inclination was to think about where to put a "developer's corner" sub-forum. However, like most things associated with the openHPSDR architecture, even developer questions tend to be client-centric. That would tend to lump all programming quest...

Re: Behringer CMD PL-1 knobs values are incorrect

Not sure this answer will help, but... The setting of knobs, buttons or wheels is to tell PowerSDR what kind of control you are using. It does not tell the MIDI controller anything. The software will then present you with a list of commands that it supports for each type of control. Wheels are contr...

Everything revolves around the idea of Transmit Profiles. Make all the changes that you desire. Then save them as a transmit profile. Go to Setup > Transmit and press the save button (the rest of the saving process should be obvious after that). I strongly recommend disabling the two "Auto Save...

Re: Level Cal adjustment for 7000DLE

This changes the power measurement calibration of the radio. It has to be done using a calibrated signal source. You attach the signal source to the radio with it programmed to a given frequency and output power level. You tune that signal, then put in the frequency and the level of the calibration ...

OK, so the same old 8000 if you don't quibble about the revision of the Orion MKII, but without the annoying front panel, the complexity of the internal 50V upconverter, and smaller dimensions. All welcome changes, plus the lower price. However, there must be a 50 to 12VDC power supply inside now, c...

You need to set up virtual serial port software. There are three choices: com0com, VSPM and Eterlogic VSPE. Install one of those, create a virtual serial port pair, assign one of the pair to PowerSDR, the other to whatever other application you need to communicate with. My preference is VSPE (althou...

Abhi, Could we get more details about what is new about the 8000 MKII? The ad copy on the website doesn't really explain it. Don't all 8000DLE MKI's have the TX attenuator already? Is the 50V final RF amplifier stage the same as in the 8000 MKI? Or is it a new 50V design that does not have the high ...

I'm not sure that Phil actually reads the forum. I don't believe Phil removed PS in 10.3. I have not looked at the code, but more likely it simply does not make timing (properly run on the FPGA) on your hardware in that version. I'm pretty sure that's what he's saying, Gary. It is very unlikely that it is the switch that is the problem. Most modern switches have a backplane or "fabric" that can switch the maximum wireline rate on all ports. More likely it is a problem sharing the single NIC for multiple data strea...

Glenn, I think you'll find this post helpful: https://apache-labs.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2612&p=4075 The VAC facility of PowerSDR allows you to source/sink audio right at the PC, using the PC's sound interface, directly into/out of PowerSDR. It is actually a shorter, less complex...
