Very cool! Did Walter submit the changes to Doug for possible inclusion in the next versions?

Re: Hermes F3, wrong part...

any update about this ? im using an orion mk2 , it seems mine fails when overheat That's because the firmware build you are using fails to make timing on your hardware when the FPGA temperature increases. It has nothing to do with current overload of resettable fuses on Hermes or Angelia boards. Tr...

You should always run the latest. And starting from scratch is not a bad idea, either.

Nothing specific, Carl. I'm running an 8k on P2, my Windows 10 Pro is up to date, and I've noticed no unusual changes lately.

Re: HPSDR shuts down after 8000DLE relay click noise.

You've posted this question in the firmware sub-forum, so I'll give you a firmware based answer: try loading P1/PowerSDR and see if it works, OK. If it doesn't then it's probably a software or hardware problem and we'll have to move this topic to the right forum. If P1 does work OK, then reload P2 a...

Re: New Protocol 2 Firmware Released

It tough to know if this is a software issue or firmware issue. When you cycle Thetis it will act to reinitialize the active settings in firmware. My personal opinion is that this is a firmware related issue.

Re: Single MIDI Controller Button Controlling MOX and Voicemeeter?

Glad it worked out, Kevin. You win the award for the most complex MIDI setup!

One thing I've been thinking of lately is doing macro buttons in VMP for different modes and mics.

Also, a new version of VMP was just released that fixes some bugs.

Re: ANAN-100 Ethernet lead direct to PC

Terry, I have moved your thread to the correct sub-forum here, the one that centralizes all information regarding network connections. Please see the very first "sticky" post in this sub-forum. Your answer is almost certainly contained within. Very short answer: you can make a direct conne...

Re: 2018 QST Review ANAN-8000DLE

The performance claimed by the Apache web site does not match up with anyone's real world performance that I'm aware of. That said, when this review came out it was obvious to everyone that the testers clearly either did not know what they were doing with PureSignal or that the unit was broken in so...

OK, so now it's a 6dB mystery. But I bet that mono is still being converted to stereo somewhere. Maybe even in JTDX.

Re: Best AGC for digital modes?

Interesting. I don't have JTDX (and have no interest in installing it). Using WSJT-X, under the same conditions I get 39dB into WSJT-X, which 15dB different than you. At this point I am at a loss to explain where that 15dB difference is coming from. I think I might have this sorted out. The peak-to...

Re: Best AGC for digital modes?

Hi Scott., windows sound panel set to 100. On quiet part of band with AGC at max I need to increase slider to 2.6 to get the first red bar to show . I can then go to a strong signal and get the red to appear again with AGC just above the noise so perhaps I'm making progress ? If that is with RX1 AF...

Re: Best AGC for digital modes?

Tony, Your settings look perfect. Did you check the level settings in the Windows Sound control panel? Please do this experiment: 1. Set RX1 AF to 100, VAC RX Gain to 0, leave all your VMB sliders at 0dB 2. Tune in a quiet part of the band using DIGU and a 3KHz filter. 3. Set the AGC Gain to maximum...

Gary, Please go back and re-read my posts. I don't think you are reading them correctly. Wow Scott.... seems based on your assessment I'm way off ... I run, HAVE TO RUN my VAC RX gain at -25. First of all I would not say you are "way off". And second of all you don't "have to" :)...

Remote (virtualized) CW

Remote/virtualized CW: running CW by connecting a key to your PC and listening to audio on your PC via VAC. It has long been believed that remote/virtualized CW is not possible due to high signal latencies in a virtualized environment. However, this is not strictly true any longer. Remote CW with P...

Re: Best AGC for digital modes?

Tony, The link will answer your question regarding how noise power is measured by the spectral display and the S-meter, but will not solve the audio problem. The calibration value is just that, a calibration value. It tells the software what the LNA gain IS, it does NOT let you CHANGE the LNA gain. ...

Re: Best AGC for digital modes?

Tony, I don't know what a normal noise floor looks like on 6M because I never use it. I'm not sure what you mean by "RX1 6M LNA value" because there is no such thing. The 6M LNA gain is not adjustable, you can only turn it on and off. I can tell you that something is badly wrong with your ...

Re: Best AGC for digital modes?

I find that I have to keep the AGC gain line way high on the screen (gain value of 40 or so) in order to get 30db showing in Ft8 software on a quiet frequency. If I set it any higher in gain terms the audio level is too high. Am I missing something ? Tony, It is important to keep your AGC reference...

Re: Single MIDI Controller Button Controlling MOX and Voicemeeter?

OK, that makes sense. You could also do it with hardware by using a DPDT switch for PTT and mic audio. One side of the switch to key the radio (either directly into the radio hardware or via a serial port on the PC), the other side to alternately connect or ground the mic input to your sound interfa...

Re: Single MIDI Controller Button Controlling MOX and Voicemeeter?

First the easy part: there is a MOX command called MOX On Off. It is a button-assignable command. It is a toggle, not a push-to-talk, control. Second part, splitting a MIDI controller across two applications: you can do this. It requires using "virtual MIDI software", much the same as usin...

Re: Best AGC for digital modes?

I've tried fast, and I've tried slow, and seen little difference either way. In a fit of indecision, I've settled on medium. :D

I suspect that it doesn't make a lot of difference unless you are riding the ragged edge of FT8 or something like that.

Art,

See this topic:

I'm guessing that the problem is blocked process threads when running Thetis.

Re: Seq Errors Explained

Seq errors are not reported by PowerSDR (as far as I know) or SDR Console, so you won't see them there even if they exist.
