Re: Step attenuator linearity

Would it be difficult to measure the return loss of your coupler? Just curious to see if there is an impedance problem lurking.

Re: Step attenuator linearity

It would be helpful if you varied coupling to the point where IMD is reached and PureSignal no longer linearizes. If that point nears or reaches the maximum allowable MCL input power so be it, but please measure it. I'm loathe to do this because I'm already banging up against the maximum safe input...

Re: Voicemeeter Potato (VMP) is here!

You need to assign an ASIO output in Voicemeeter first. Did you do that? I think after that the ASIO inputs will show up as options.

Re: Pure Signal on 160

Legal-limit amps with a -50 dBc sample port require an additional 6 dB pad ahead of Orion MKII. A coupling factor of 56 dB still allows good linearization at full amplifier output power AND when the amplifier is in bypass with exciter power less than 50W. Step attenuator linearity

This is a re-post of an analysis I posted to the old Yahoo Group back in December 2019: Summary: After some extensive business travel in December, I've finally had an opportunity to revisit this subject and to try to reproduce the results that Paul reported earlier in the month. I was unable to do s...

Yes, a different (smaller) FPGA on the 10E.

Re: Switch SW7 under the ANAN 10 box

I must be mistaken then, Paco. I was thinking you had a 10E, because I was unaware of any other -10 model with an externally accessible switch.

Also, I can find no evidence of the switch in the schematics: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=2335

Re: Voicemeeter Potato (VMP) is here!

Sample rate should not matter. It sounds like you have some malfunctioning drivers. My recommendation is to completely uninstall both the UMC drivers, and Voicemeeter, reboot, reinstall both, reboot, then try again.

Re: Switch SW7 under the ANAN 10 box

That is the "Bootloader Switch".

If you need to load new firmware, you can make the unit boot up into the FPGA "Bootloader" image instead of the normal firmware image.

Try this: “Vb-cable” Did you try it yourself? I already know the answer, because it you had you would have found that it doesn't work. You also get all instances of vb and cable by themselves. Oooh, that's ugly. If you go back to 2.4 does the problem go away? Or 2.6 or 2.5? This will help diagnose whether it is a firmware problem or a PowerSDR problem.

Believe it or not, your drive power level may be too low. Below a certain drive power level the tune signal will go to shit. Try increasing your drive power level a little bit.

There is currently no way to do what you want. It is possible to fix this, but I will have to work with the forum provider to see if they can set it up. More to follow if I can get this done.

Re: ANAN 8000DLE Fan failure & Low sensitivity

If those temperatures are in Celsius the radio is probably getting too hot and one of the internal PTC devices (temperature sensitive, self-resetting fuses) is opening.

Either the fan is broken, the fan wiring or connector, or the fan driver IC.

Since there was no difference in behavior between the two different firmware loads, that implies it is not a firmware problem, and therefore this discussion does not belong in a firmware sub-forum.

Re: RigBlaster Pro and a 8000DLE

John, Why would you want to use a RigBlaster? To do so requires you to leave the digital domain, enter the analog domain, then re-enter the digital domain. This leaves you open to all kinds of RFI/EMI/etc., and requires the provisioning of appropriate cables and whatnot. SDRs like ours are instead b...

Re: Virtual serial Port Woes

Not a PowerSDR problem. Moving it to the right sub-forum. If VSPM threw an error, then the ports are not properly instantiated. There is nothing you can do in PowerSDR to fix this. I'd recommend uninstalling VSPM, rebooting, reinstalling, rebooting, then try again. Even better, use Eterlogic VSPE in...

Windows updates are famous for damaging audio drivers. More than once I've had to uninstall-reboot-reinstall-reboot-reconfigure Voicemeeter.

Check the sample rates of your devices in the Windows sound control panel. Consider reinstalling any audio devices or drivers.
