Critical Update for all radios shipped after Dec 2018

Hi All, I would suggest that all ANAN-7000DLE/MKII and ANAN-8000DLE/MKII users update their firmware: https://apache-labs.com/download_file.php?downloads_id=1017 This firmware addresses an issue with the Mini Circuits Attenuators used in the radio, it seems that the new batch of attenuators do not l...

Re: ANAN-10 PA IMD performance

There is nothing proprietary about the PA design, increase the bias for better IMD without PS, however, PS works best with 250mA bias (each MOSFET). Not sure why one would run the rig without PS enabled?

Odin SDR Console

Just finished making a working prototype of Laurence, G8NJJ and Kjell, LA2NI's excellent Console for the ANAN/HPSDR radios, this controls almost all the PowerSDR functions using a 4.3 inch touchscreen, Tuning knob, four dual rotary knobs and a set of 17 buttons. Next to get it into a decent housing!...

Re: 7000 fan noise

The Fan controller is not software driven, it has a built-in temperature sensor and speed controller. The reason for doing so was to prevent cooling failure in case of a firmware/software crash. The low speed rattle is not specific to the particular fan used since we tested several models, May I als...

Re: 7000 fan noise

We tried several FAN controllers most of which caused serious EMI to the receiver, the controller used currently was the most RF silent, however, it induces a slight rattle in the FAN when running at low speed, you will notice that the rattle disappears when the FAN speeds up with temperature increa...

Re: 7000 fan noise

The 7000DLE internal FAN noise is slightly higher than the 200D, however, it is also moving more air, this was a conscious design decision and allows for a MUCH cooler radio, with the larger heat dissipation and better forced air cooling available to the 7000DLE it can run 100% ICAS duty cycle. 73, ...

Re: ANAN-7000DLE Update

Hi Volker,

Yes, no Line Out, have been replaced by the two Digital Inputs, the Orion MKII header does provide the Line Outs but they are not connected to the back panel,

What do you need the line out for?

Thanks,

ANAN-8000DLE SWR Protection

Hi All, Some users of the 8000DLE are experiencing SWR trips when using the Radio amplifiers, this is because most amplifiers can have an SWR of 1.5:1 or higher, the Microprocessor based primary protection in the 8000DLE with the initial controller firmware is sensitive to this, therefore, we have r...
