Picture of 7000 board showing jumpers 22 and 24

Hi I'm busy contemplating opening up my 7000 mkII to add the jumpers 22 and 24 to ground and put 50 ohms into the 10 meg external reference circuit. Two things.....has anyone got a photo of the board area in question that they can share, and what size/spacing are the jumpers ?

Re: UMC 202 HD interface issues

Please reset all and disregard my last comments........the problem is solved !!! The cause was that my UMC 202 HD does not like shareing USB ports with anything else. I had it plugged in sharing with a couple of other USB inputs ...keyboard and mouse. I gave it, its own fast (blue connector) USB con...

UMC 202 HD interface issues

I have just purchased a new behringer UMC 202HD and have been trying to get it work with my 7000 mkII. The issues are audio from the 202 input arrives in CM or Voicemeeter like there is a high wind in the back ground. The audio from Thetis via CM or via Voicemeeter (banana) is chopped up with dropou...

Re: Changing Windows 10 Network Throttling Index for Better Performance

Scott adding in the UMC drivers doesn't affect the throttling index so for me Voicemeeter was the culprit.
I'm going to open an other discussion about what I think is my problem.

Re: Changing Windows 10 Network Throttling Index for Better Performance

Scott, things are getting interesting. I've just booted from original drive that was "parked" (no power to the original drive but power to the clone), that was isolated just prior to adding the UMC drivers and Voicemeeter Matrix. And when I boot from the earlier drive the throttling index ...

Re: Changing Windows 10 Network Throttling Index for Better Performance

Will do Scott. First will be to try and roll back my system....I have another bootable drive with a complete earlier backup on. And try and see where the registry got hacked. I have evil thoughts about the Voicemeeter matrix program which I have also been trying. It's possible that Banana and matrix...

Re: Microphone/ Audio Interface Options

I am just upgrading to a uphoria UMC202hd. I have managed to get things operating with CMASIO and also with Voicemeeter Banana. But just not very well. Using the UMC202 headphone socket as the output I get audio dropouts every couple of seconds, but using the same voicemeeter signal into another spe...

Re: Changing Windows 10 Network Throttling Index for Better Performance

Hi I have managed to get myself a UMC202HD, and in the process of installing it and its drivers I have been getting dropouts, hooting and feedback et.c when I try and run things with my Voicemeeter potato. I decided to check if the throttling index tweak is still set on my windows 10 machine i5. Upo...

Re: Trouble with your microphone? Read this...

Thanks Scott .....its been a bit frustating to deal with such a simple thing ! Having said that, the best on air reports by far, that I've had, have come from a "humble" computor gaming headset. Not all of us have super fast machines that handle VAC and deliver super low latencys. I hanker...

Re: Trouble with your microphone? Read this...

Well time to get embarassed again. Between doing the work on the mic line and retesting to reply to your post....I did check and recheck everything and yes for my mic /headphone setup bias can be be applied to the tip of the mike connector. If I isolate the ring connection from the mic/headphone and...

Re: Trouble with your microphone? Read this...

Hi Scott I've been reading through this section carefully since I decided to use "straight" mikes until I can settle my VAC setup and buy a decent DAW (berhinger looks good). I made the usual mistake of trying to key the TX with a connection to the ring of 3.5mm stereo mike and finding tha...

Re: Thetis 2.0.3.6 dev_2 issues

One thing that does not seem to have been reported on is an issue with recording ones transmission and then playing back the result to check on transmitted audio etc. I have been doing tests on the various bands with SSB and found (to my inital horror) that playing back the recorded audio was severe...

Re: TX Profile updates

HI I would also like to be able to couple PA profiles to transmit profiles. I have several PA profiles that are used to change the gain profile depending on what part of the 6 metre band that I am working. ( I find output power drops as I'm getting to the top of the band.) If not would it be possibl...

Re: Thetis v2.9.0.8 - meters and then some more

Really loving the new meters !

One thing occurred to me is that using an amp and pure signal.....is there anyway of using the pure signal feedback signal to drive a meter and scaling it so that I can look at the actual station output signal ?

power output settings on 6 metres

Now that propagation is increasing I have finally gotten around to setting the correct drive levels for 6 metre operation. I notice that if I setup a P.A. profile for 6 metres and 100 watts at 50.5 MHz then if I shift to 53.5 MHz for our local FM net what was 100 watts is now only some 30 watts or s...

Re: vac buffer overruns during 2 tone testing

Close out report. static IP's set up at 192.168.2.200/201 all working nicely (a friend who is in the business came by and assisted). No change in operation. Final conclusion was, that it was not an IP issue, but rather too many program "fleas" running in the background. Not sure if it was ...

Re: vac buffer overruns during 2 tone testing

Well I've been bouncing around looking for anything that might be a culprit or at least reduce the hiccups in transmission. I'm beginning to think that Pure signal maybe involved is some way. The reason I say this is that under the conditions that I am testing (two tone on pure signal on with ~ 12 w...

Re: vac buffer overruns during 2 tone testing

A few months onward and I've gotten around to a few more tests. Using a separate receiver I've been doing some more low power tests (10 ~ 15 Watts) in transmit variously in voice, tune, and 2tone. The hiccup has been happening in all of them with PS on or off not making much difference. From the rec...

Re: vac buffer overruns during 2 tone testing

Don't think so I'm a bit OCD about that. I've installed ferrite cores on all of the supply leads (AC and DC). A ferrite core between the rig output and the amp. And a ferrite core on the amp to rig feedback line. Nothing on the amp output...........but thats a 1 metre double screened coax into the d...

vac buffer overruns during 2 tone testing

Hi to the group, I've been working at slowly reducing the latency of my audio in Tx and have reached a point where I have what it consider to be a "nice" stable setup. So I only get buffer over/under flows every few 10's of minutes (and usually when the system over all cpu useage "bli...

Rob, you are quite correct, I can and do make it work. My amp is a Ldmos type and I have been warned....don't over drive it !!! I use a Midi device with slider to set the drive levels with 30 watts of drive giving me ~900 Watt of output from the Amp (theres a 10 db attenuator in the amp input to hel...
