Anan 7000 from SK for sale
Ed W3PG has an Anan 7000 with internal computer (does that make it an 8000?) It is from W1ALZ's estate and he is selling it for Tom's widow. All $$ goes to Ellen. Not sure of price. It was used very little and Ed says he has tried out RX, but made no transmissions. He is on QRZ, contact via that Ema...

Re: Beginning of transmission spike
Yes, rx noise will do it. My usb mic is / was always ON, so the TX mic buffer was capturing it prior to PTT and out came a short burst of whatever is going on in the rx. Had to use relay tied to mox output to keep mike muted until tx. Of course it all depends on level of rx audio vs placement of spe...

Re: Receiver Recording
What am I missing? I used to be able to record and playback my own transmissions using the record and playback on console, not bringing up the WAVE function. It still works to record and playback received signals, but on my own, only get some very low level garbling and odd pictures on waterfall. La...

Re: TX Profile updates
Pull monitor audio off the receiver I-Q and not from the pure signal corrected I-Q going to transmitter. You loose one channel of monitor audio when in AM due to the way PS works on AM, at least that is the way it works with my 7000 and amplifier.

Re: Severe problem with PureSignal
Look at linearity with PS off using spectrum display.
This is 100 watts - 3rd order IMD on my 7000 about -30 dB from each tone.
With PS ON, it drops to -52 dB.
Sounds like his internal HW has issues since he gets same results with amplifier.

Re: Anan 7000 and mercury hookup
My experience with ANAN 7000 and Mercury IIIS (A factory built one) : The Mercury won't turn on LDMOS bias until it sees RF and if pure signal doesn't have some delay before it starts working, it gets confused over lack of RF out during the time that it knows it is transmitting. It seems to take abo...

Re: Noise cancelling / Phasing using diversity
Another feature of the Diversity Tab is the ability to instantly swap between Rx 1 and Rx 2 and still retain the Display - as opposed to the split feature if activating RX2 separately (and having to select VAC1 or VAC2)
Simply select either Rx 1 or Rx 2 as the Receiver Source.

It would be wonderful if you would add some way to turn off that red history shading on the analog meters.

My Anan 7000 from Sept 2021 has never displayed current with any version of Thetis I've used, now at 2.9.0.6. I heard it was a hardware change.

I want to experiment with it, but need to get original SW back ...

I've been using a usb mic since day one with a 7000. It is one of the bid "condenser" mikes sold on Ebay for under $30, complete with boom, etc. Straight into USB port on computer. Mine is sold under the name "IKEDON". I get constant unsolicited complements on audio quality - of ...

Use the remotehams.com and their app for android called RCForb. Or you can run it on your PC on the ship. No monthly fees. You configure it as a "FLEX" radio since interface is the same. Not exactly plug and play but setup is not all that difficult - you can PM me with any questions. No fa...

Competition for Pure Signal ?
Ads for the new Icom PW-2 1 KW amp say it has linearization when used with ICOM 7610 HF radio. They show IMD improvements similar to Pure Signal. Does not appear to use RF feedback, the block diagram shows an FPGA at input of the amp. Anyone with more info on how they are doing this? https://www.ab4...

Re: pure signal not working right 2.9.06
Might be something to his concern with 2.9.06. I've noticed a "flair up" in the broadband noise sometimes with voice input. See screen shots. Both are with voice input into 50 ohm load using AL80B amp at 800 W with coupler feedback to my Anan 7000. When the noise comes up, I see the lower ...

I leave my station on all the time for remote operation, and I see the same message/issue every 3 to 4 days when I try to use it in the mornings after it was idle all night. Thetis will be shut down and minimized. Restarting Thetis gives that message and it always takes a power cycle of my 8 months ...

Scott is right - use the remotehams.com and their app for android called RCForb. Not click and play but setup is not all that difficult - you can PM me with any questions. No fancy spectrum display but if you want to just listen, you can bring up your computer with teamview/chrome remote.

Re: Input attenuator design
Yes, you could make a coupler for -10 dB but you'd experience the same rx path loss as a 10 dB pad, so no real advantage, that I can see. Yes, a fixed 10dB pad probably has no observed effect on usable rx, at least below 20 meters, etc. Simplest way to add some protection without putting it inside t...

Re: Input attenuator design
Sounds like this is a kit type amp, so I'd put the attn INSIDE the amp and avoid all the relay issues. Optionally, You can set the max power out at full drive level on any band on the 7000 by Setup > PA Settings Caution - Lower numbers mean HIGHER power. You want to INCREASE the values from default ...

Re: Condenser headsets for 7000 DLE MKII
Using the VAC 1 input, I have one of the under $25 USB condenser mikes from Ebay, with the brand name IKEDON.
Plugs into a USB port on computer and totally eliminates all the RF pickup/feedback with analog mikes, at least in my case.
Just follow the W1AEX instructions on setting up equalization, etc.

Re: Internet Remote using RCFORB and VSPE
Yes, this works wonderfully now! All the other RC Forb functions seem to do something on the ANAN, so if they fixed that MOX/MON key, the server could have a dedicated drop down menu for setup for ANAN. I'll sent them a bug report.

This server app is set up to control a FLEX with PowerSDR. Use virtual audio in and out on VAC1 so the RC Forb has audio ports. A virt...
