Re: Old CW keying topic revisited
I'm that "other" fellow. In the manual, which admittedly is quite a bit out of date, it said set CW delays (both key up and key down) to at least 30ms otherwise will get unusual results. Indeed I found, with other versions of Thetis, this to be the case. That and the long delay needed for ...

Re: No output from Thetis after Asus computer updates
Scott, thanks! That's exactly what the issue was. I ran Thetis as admin and did the check firewall. It came back as OK. Next I opened my anti virus program, AVG free. It had somehow switched to "don't trust this network". Changed and indeed radio back up and working. I really appreciate yo...

Re: No output from Thetis after Asus computer updates
I'd prefer not to. Thetis works fine on a laptop running W10. Some more testing reveals the transmit side of Thetis and the radio works fine. Its just the receive side. Completely blank display. No noise, nothing. Checked ADC settings are they show standard set up for P2. Antenna set up all good. I'...

No output from Thetis after Asus computer updates
Operating system: W10 Recently did some updates to my Asus desktop. Running i7-11700. Updates included Bios and other items. After update Thetis starts, sees the Anan 7000dle but, absolutely no rf from radio. Tried radio with another computer and no issues. Did try the database reset but that made n...

MIDI control to switch between TX and RX antenna
I checked and didn't see such an assignment available. It sure would be nice to program a MIDI button to swap between rx and tx antenna under the Thetis VFO A and B section of Thetis. I'm not at all well enough versed in Visual Studio to try to create such a function. Any takers? Or even hints on ho...

Found issue. User error. I had moved the radio and, somehow, flipped the switch on the bottom to boot loader. Moved it back and all is good. Sorry for the bandwidth

Thetis doesn't see Anan 7000dle
Was working perfectly. In fact just ran the whole CQ160 WW with no issues. Went to restart and Thetis shows error box when trying to power on saying "Error starting SDR hardware" On the lan connection the left light is on but the right blinks for a while when the cable is first connected t...

Re: 20db boost v2.10.3.3
Unusual behavior with diversity. Running thetis 2.10.3.3 on W10 64 bit and a 7000dle. Turn diversity on then off and rx1 goes full screen noise. Tried cycling Thetis off then on and it hung up. Had to go to task manager to shut it down.

Re: Diversity Operations - RX2 protection while transmitting
Mark when I received my (used) 7000dle I suspected rx2 wasn't hearing as well as RX1. I was right. I found the filter immediately in line with the input was very lossy. Removed (that was a chore as it has contacts on all sides!) and replaced but still seemed a little numb. Went back in and looked mo...

Re: Diversity Operations - RX2 protection while transmitting
Good advise. I checked and indeed, when transmitting rx2 is shorted to ground. With, of course, the "ground bpf" box checked in Thetis The signal I see on thetis must be internal leakage or something like that. Not a signal present on rx2.

Rafael, that's the question. Is the band pass filter really grounded? Can anyone on the forum verify that it is?

Re: Diversity Operations - RX2 protection while transmitting
Re "ground bpf2 on xmit
I have that checked but, when I transmit I still see a very strong signal on RX2 tuned, o course, to same as transmit frequency. I have always wondered if the rx2 band pass filter was actually grounded.

Re: Relays in transmit path ?
Thanks Paul. From reading the other string, seems no changes have been made. That is a REAL shame since, to me, the use of relays is a downside for the radio. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong but I found that, when using the internal keyer, a VERY long delay (hundreds of ms) was needed to eliminate...

Relays in transmit path ?
Are relays still used for T/R switching or does the G2 use pin diodes? If relays, any differences from the 7000 series? Specifically, is the pure signal relay still in parallel with the T/R relay so its always used even if the mode isn't SSB?
Thanks

Failed to answer the first question you had. Yes, it works fine with the other laptop which is also running W10.
Turned firewall off, changed lan cable and same result as above. Baffling.

Re: Thetis issue with new laptop
Scott, thanks. I do not have the W firewall on. I did the firewall check and Thetis came back saying all OK. I'll try disabling my other firewall. But my other computers work fine with it enabled (I use free versions of AVG and Zone Alarm).

Thetis issue with new laptop
New laptop is I7 6820 cpu and 16Gb ram Radio: Anan 7000dle Issue: Connects and sees Thetis Does not receive anything. I can press "tune" and indeed the radio sends carrier. I've verified correct antennas selected but absolutely nothing. S meter shows something like -398 for signal level. G...
Re: ATT on Tx
Mike, thanks for that info. Richie thanks for incorporating the choice in your next update. To me, seems that there is no harm in keeping the attenuator level unchanged until the operator goes in and changes the setting. Perhaps I'm missing the benefit of having it change based on mode..... Thanks Ron

Re: "Echo" with dual receive, Prot 2, thetis 2.9.0.6x64
Scott getting back to the dedicated NIC for the radio, I read the information you posted a number of years back on turning off stuff that isn't needed. For the card setup, under advanced, what does need to be turned on for the interface to work with the radio? And you said, in that same post, some s...

Re: "Echo" with dual receive, Prot 2, thetis 2.9.0.6x64
Scott I've found that, for a very weak station, it can help me, sometimes, pick them out. And, for single receive, it does do some separating of stations ear to ear which also helps pull them out. I had been running it all the time. Will still do that unless RX2 is on. Would be interesting to find o...

Re: "Echo" with dual receive, Prot 2, thetis 2.9.0.6x64
In testing for the last hour of the CQ160 contest adding the dedicated nic for the radio solved the audio issues. turning off binaural (bin) fixed the echo issue.

Re: "Echo" with dual receive, Prot 2, thetis 2.9.0.6x64
Scott thanks. I always run with binaural on. With both receivers on I have been running it with both. I'm going to experiment and turn it off. With both receivers on I think there is no (little?) benefit. Will let it run like this for a while and see if the issue is resolved. Added 2nd nic card dedi...

Re: SPE Expert Amp Interfacing
I just acquired a spe amp. Even after reading the string for this topic I am confused. The spe amp only listens. Doesn't transmit any data back to the radio. So should only need to monitor the RS232 TX line. So the pinout, I think, should be. I installed a pcie card with real rs232 ports. PC DB9 Amp...
