With a dummy load on amp, and without noting the Anan's power out, I adjust the PA settings so that Drive at 100 gives me the maximum amp power out I want on each band.

Is there anywhere in Thetis (or anyway) to see the output from any of the rigs internal temperature sensors?

Using Diversity to notch out a strong noise source
Have seriously strong (-73dBM) noise that is wide and has recurring peaks spaced ~20Khz. Each occurrence is ~8 Khz wide. My guess is telemetry. It's coming off the power line but I haven't been able to isolate the source. Even good old NR2 is no match. My lowest noise receive antenna is an 80 meter ...

Re: Using the Open Collector DB9F connector for CAT control
Thanks Scott - was I ever off base on how CAT control made it from the transceiver to the amp. SDR's really do run the radio in the PC. Trying to avoid the 'no good deed goes unpunished', before asking I'll try research how one makes a virtual CAT connection from Thetis to one of my PC USB ports. Ch...

Using the Open Collector DB9F connector for CAT control
I would like to use a USB to RS-232 Male (9-pin) DB9 Serial Cable to connect from the subject Anan port to the USB CAT control port on an amp. (Amp is a RF-Kit that supports Kenwood CAT protocal) What do I need to configure in Thetis to use the 9-pin for CAT ? A bit lost so tnx's for any help or adv...

Re: Enable CAT Grayed-Out
Interesting discussion. With at least one Amp now allowing CAT control via a virtual cable through a network pipe, it would be helpful if the scope of any manual clarification of virtual cabling included via network pipes. For example the RF-KIT amp can be networked connected. The amp has PA Bridge ...

Re: Temperature controlled Fan.
Thanks Scott Having just read IMPORTANT UPDATE/DO NOT USE: 7000DLE fan noise fix, my inclination is to not go this route. Am wondering if at low enough transmit power, the 7000, 1 - might not need a fan or 2 - A less CFM effective but much quieter fan could be used. An 'ah-shucks' observation that a...

Temperature controlled Fan.
My 7000dle MKII is one of the units that came from the factory with fan is hardwired ON at maximum speed. Likely done to mitigate a heat problem when running 100wts ICAS. Suspect unit has the circuitry to have for the fan be temperature controlled. Due power amp drive limits, will limit the Anan to ...

Re: VAC toggles off when AM or SAM mode selected
The problem is that the mic that you last associated with AM mode is remembered for that mode (as it also is for the LSB and USB modes), and all of the settings specific to that mic's Profile get reinstated every time you change to that mode. So Save the Transmit Profile for the mic in question aft...

Re: 7000 MK2 & Temperature controlled fan
Understand -- Besides duty cyc problem, I'd prefer not hearing the fan always running at max blast. I'll test the external fan port on the 7000 to see if it's on when rig is cold. If so, a 2nd fan will add to the noise while rig idling cold in receive That port is paralleled with the internal fan, ...

VAC toggles off when AM or SAM mode selected
Just updated to v2.8.11 VAC now toggles off when AM or SAM mode selected. Clicking VAC1 will enable it. Selecting all other modes VAC1 stays enabled. Problem is repeatable even during same session If, for example, AM selected > re-enabling VAC > select LSB > AM = VAC1 will toggle off again.

Re: 7000 MK2 & Temperature controlled fan
With an external fan on 100 or 200 series hardware you can obtain 100W at very high duty cycles. Understand -- Besides duty cyc problem, I'd prefer not hearing the fan always running at max blast. Re: 7000 MK2 & Temperature controlled fan
... I seem to remember that later variants of the MKII have their fans wired to be on all the time, but I'm not 100% certain. Mine is always on. Kind of means these versions don't meet the 'temperature controlled fan' spec. My black 7K runs the fan at the same speed coming on cold as it does when i...

If you want to cloud sync your Thetis Database across multiple computers
Right Click Desktop Shortcut Icon and add DB redirect via OneDrive link
For example ,
"C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenHPSDR\Thetis\Thetis.exe" -datapath:"D:\OneDrive\HAM Radio\ANAN 7000DLE\THETISDB"

One of Anan impressive features is that it can be networked and accessed via different computers.
