I would love to hear what NIC tweaks you applied that actually help, please share.. I forced speed and duplex and enabled most of the settings in this tech article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/networking/technologies/network-subsystem/net-sub-performance-tuning-nics I also set t...

Re: So Disappointed But I Rolled it Back. 7000 MK III To Protocol 1
Curious if you tried protocol 2 but at the lower spectrum width? If there are issues in networking, the added data throughput exaggerates them for sure as it’s a lot more data on the line to process. I had a lot of headaches a while back due to an antivirus that had a shim on the IP stack (I disable...

Re: Balanced Tx echo/reverb
There is at least one other report of an echo when using an XLR input. In case it helps others can you clarify exactly what the braided ground wire connects please? To what cable or device? I'd like if possible to get the mystery fully resolved and the solution documented. He’s talking about his st...

Re: Adjust Audio Level in playback Recording
You use the Record Feature in Thetis. I then go to play it back, and it is too high (on the Mic Level Meter. How does one adjust the level for playback? The Wave pop up menu and TX level. The recording level is based on your setting at the time for receive volume so it will vary on you. Set playbac...

Re: TCI with RF Kits RF2K amplifier
Be aware that Expert Electronics has changed their default TCI port in ExpertSDR3 from 40001 to 50001 (ExpertSDR2 40001). Unfortunately the default port for TCI in Thetis is also 50001...so you have to check, that you have different ports! Best to set it in Thetis to 50051 or some other free port. ...

Re: Selecting Balanced XLR input
1/8” or 3.5mm jacks do not take any strain well at all. You basically need to strain relief them. If there is any pull they get bent easily and also they tend to lose contact as the jacks are often loose fitting where the greater surface area of the larger plug is more stable.

The Moni volume needs to be set while transmitting. There are also a few settings that govern that behavior. This is in Thetis so I’m unsure on pihpsdr. It may similarly need to be adjusted while in transmit.

Well when VAC is not right and glitches it transmits artifacts in digi modes that people mistake for a carrier.

Re: "Hum" on Carrier - Very odd
A tip. VAC can glitch on initial start or a mode switch if sampling and buffer sizes change. I test the sound simply by ear by enabling Mon, transmit to the dummy load and see if the sound is clean. For digi I send a data stream to hear it modulated vs just a carrier. If it’s dirty sounding you can ...

Re: Sequence errors during transmit
A dense stream of UDP like we generate is actually kind of unusual and brings out flaws in a lot of hardware/IP stacks. To the OP, I'm curious what FPS rates and the FFT size being run. I've found people running some crazy combinations there and once adjusted to more sane values, their issues went a...

Re: FM Tx Audio below 300hz cut off on semplix
Self monitoring on FM is almost impossible due to the effect that desense has. I tried messing with wide band FM audio quality years back and unless you modify a receiver, most have the high pass filtering for the PL range. I basically just let it go with basic audio cleanup and left it alone. What ...

Re: Thetis v2.9.0.6 SSB Filters 2.1kHz and wider are ringing
The ringing the buffer types changes sounds like someone jangling change in a pouch as people are talking. However it in no way is loud enough to make copy nearly impossible as the OP stated. It's an irritating but very minor jangling on the peaks of words but the speech is entirely copyable. If the...

Really looks great, awesome bit of work. Everything went smoothly. I know it's an enormous effort, but man once you get the other control groupings in dockable/floatable containers it will bring us on par with SDR Uno and SDR Console for customizing the layout. A grail achievement for Thetis for sur...

Re: Motu M2 Win 11 Buffer Size
The struggle I just went through with M2 and Win 11 had to do with MSFT installing its own driver. That worked ok in Win 10 but they broke something. So after pulling all the MSFT provided ASIO drivers and reinstalling the Motu driver and in turn reinstalling Voicemeeter, ASIO functions stably again...

I am intending to acquire a Mercury LUX amp to use with my ANAN-7000DLE Mk II PROVIDED I can use the LUX Band Data connection to have the amp follow xcvr frequency changes. Ripped out drivers, swapped to the Focusrite box, had RF all over my signal as was the last time I used that.
Ripped out all drivers, reinstalled for the Motu and now it's stable again.
The mysteries of Windows and audio drivers.
Will see if it is stable for a while.

Additionally, Windows apps, video/audio playback, video conferencing, all normal.
EESDR3 the Sun software is also glitching, when it did not prior to the upgrade.
Using wdm-ks interfaces works as a way around the issue, but it seems to be an ASIO issue.

Windows 11 upgrade causing some instability in ASIO
After doing a Windows 11 upgrade, my config that was stable in Win10 is now giving me stability issues with ASIO audio. In the Thetis audio tab, you have your buffers on manual and 0. I just let mine do the automatic thing, my system would never work at 0ms forced.
I'll screen shot mine when I get to my desk again.

Everything looks ok from the sound settings, the 512 buffers are large so they should be very forgiving.
I'm out of guesses at the moment.

Re: VAC & ASIO Under/Overflows
In the Thetis Audio tab VAC set to 48k and 512.
Also I’d drop all the buffers down to 128 and set each of the busses to 4096. Will drop your latency a fair bit.
