Re: Enable CAT Grayed-Out
Section 7.4 of the manual covers installing virtual COM port program. It doesn't cover the Etherlogic one though. It looks like it is more capable that the free one. Scott: The manual refers just to the Eltima "paid for" program, and com0com. Should I add a section on the Etherlogic progra...

Re: TX/RX in Status Bar
Have you got "do not TX" selected for Ant2 or Ant3? I can only reproduce what you describe if "do not TX" is selected. An earlier report was that those buttons were letting you select antennas that were disabled for TX.... so we changed it. Setup still lets you select TX manually...

Re: Controller V2 Preorders
I imagine it will be possible to plug in an HDMI display. I know the RPi2 could only provide the same image to both HDMI and LCD touchscreen, but the RPi4 may not have that restriction. Understanding how to send the audio data across a network connection to a different computer would be a good solut...

How have you connected a footswitch? To the input on the back of the radio, or using a serial port and DSR/CTS? I could understand a windows update effecting COM (serial) port operation but not the connector on the radio.

I didn't take any pictures - but next time it comes out of the box I can do. It will not include 3 components around the 5V regulator, which were vaporised following a problem when I connected the power cable for a different board - my mistake!

I attach a photograph of a "standalone Andromeda". I've made this because I've had too many accidents on my workbench and I needed Andromeda in a form where the wrong power lead wouldn't do any damage! [img]]20201101_131511.jpg[/img] This has the NUC PC on the back; it has stereo speakers ...

Re: Thetis 2.8.11 Released!
2.8.11 sets the correct defaults for the DDC assignments, but unless you do a database reset I think you will have DDC2 set to ADC0 from the previous version.
Set DDC2 to ADC1 and see what happens.

Re: No Rx and RX2 big carrier on center fx
Make sure DDC1 and DDC2 are both assigned to ADC1. You may have only DDC1 set to ADC1 - the default has changed in 2.8.11 but you probably still have the old setting on the database. That was an error in the earlier version. (And my error - I apologise!)

Have you checked the ADC assignments in the setup window? There is a separate set for protocol 1 (because the default settings are different from protocol 2) and a button to reset them to default settings.

Re: Thetis 2.8.9 Released!
The issue with the band buttons in collapsed view is I think older than 2.7.0 or even 2.6.9. It's caused because there are 3 panels of buttons, and the code tracks them by looking at which panel is visible. On a cold start of Thetis, none of them are yet visible to it doesn't show any of them. A sim...

EA3AQR: I suspect my code isn't noticing antenna changes in between the amateur bands. OK, I can look at that.
Can you tell me what you did - what antennas you have set for which bands, and where you tuned from and to that caused the antenna change that wasn't displayed please?

Re: Headphone o/p noise on transmit
Do you have MON selected (at the top left)? If that's selected, your headphone output will be fed from the TX audio, re-received and downconverted. If there was any noise from the microphone, that would then potentially be present in the headphone audio. If MON is selected: do you get the same sound...

Re: Andromeda???
Kjell and I are familiar with the "knob" problem. The Elma encoder is a lot more expensive. Kjell has had a friend 3D print knobs, but they need a bit of finishing with a file. You can use standard collet knobs, if you modify the upper one: get one for a 3.2mm shaft and drill it out to 3.5...

I think Abhi confirmed in a post on a different thread that the connector shells for the speaker outputs are "no connect" ie by design they are floating. It is only the other two connections on the 3.5mm jack that have connections. And I like the solution that decouples the "balanced&...

Re: Fixed mode
Something I find annoying, and which might be what you are wanting to avoid, is that the waterfall become out of date once you tune. You see an SSB signal 20KHz away, and by eye you may be able to get with a few KHz of it; but it always stops transmitting before you get there. If the waterfall scrol...

Doug has reminded me that the Andromeda forms are skinnable. For example the band or mode select forms. So the skin treatment could be used there.

Re: 100D with Icom SM20
It all hinges on the two transistors. I don't know whether they will work with a lower input voltage. The other thing the ebay supplier could have done is: put a large series resistor into the bias circuit (ie into pin 2). Say 47K. That would limit the effect of the filters. I've has this issue with...

Re: 100D with Icom SM20
With the original 8 pin microphone connector, the bias supply and the audio signal are separate. So the supply to the bias (pin 2) is derived from +12v and can be well decoupled but it is not electrically connected to the audio signal. With that arrangement, any filtering on the bias supply in the m...

Re: 100D with Icom SM20
"Slight audio" is usually caused by inadvertent decoupling of the audio to ground. If you look at the top right of your microphone circuit the bias input (from pin 2) has a 270 ohm series resistor and 100uF capacitor to ground. Great to get rid of RF, but.... it is also a 5Hz lowpass filte...

Hi Enzo I'm not desperately familiar with the "skinning" process but I think it involves replacing the controls with bitmap files that would have fixed text on them. I don't see that working for Andromeda. Why? Well, the labels on the upper display that I've added for Andromeda are just pi...

The noise blankers (NB, NB2, SNB) are always before the AGC in Thetis. NB and NB2 are right at the front; SNB a little further through. There is a simplified version of the RX flow graph in the Thetis manual section 2.4.1, and a more detailed one in the WDSP guide. You can download the Thetis manual...

There is a CAT command reference guide in the Thetis documentation. https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Thetis/tree/master/Documentation/Radio It isn't absolutely up to date but you are unlikely to encounter the newest CAT commands yet, I will ask Doug to add the newest one at a convenient point.
