Re: Whooshing noise.

I think the one I have in the pic is either being generated by my PSU or the radio itself. I'd like to think it is the PSU. Are you running a switch mode PSU too? Thankfully they seem to be swallowed by the noise when tuned up. Though, I have seen a few that are being received on the antenna. I thin...

Re: 1.0:1 SWR reading on 30,40,60 and 160 despite high reflected power

Increased the drive slightly, but it didn't do anything. It occasionally warns of high SWR. If the SWR reading is off the scale, it just says 1.0:1. I remember the Flex5000A would bitch quite easily, but I believe the outputs are different and this could well be something to do with the warnings or ...

Re: Whooshing noise.

Interesting... I have a few that the antenna picks up, but if I set up another antenna I can use diversity for those. The noise I posted before is actually below the noise floor on top band and the one on 40 meters disappears below the background noise. I had the antenna so it wasn't tuned. THey see...

Re: Whooshing noise.

I have to admit I did find the post on ADCs and it makes total sense now I've read it. Well.. Interesting. I have two PSUs. I will try the other one and see whether that generates the same noise. If it does the same could it be that both are generating the noise ? Hard to say, I guess. I'd imagine o...

Re: 1.0:1 SWR reading on 30,40,60 and 160 despite high reflected power

I'm not entirely sure either. It seems that on the band I am tuned up on it presents a reading up to 1000:1 and then anything over that seems to now show as anything other than 1:1, which isn't great. I also don't get an High SWR warning in the display. :-/ The rig is only a few days old so if the u...

1.0:1 SWR reading on 30,40,60 and 160 despite high reflected power

Not sure why, but the panel is reporting high reflected power on a band I'm not tuned up on, but the SWR reading is 1.0:1! The forward power meter reads less than the reflected meter reading in Power SDR (V3.4.9), but the SWR meter reading is incorrect. I'm curious as to whether this is an issue any...

Re: Whooshing noise.

Sorry, I left out that vital piece of info. It's the Anan 8000.

Whooshing noise.

Hey all, This is something I've noticed with my old Flex 5000a (my previous radio), but I think that was a genuine noise being picked up by the antenna. This time I'm hearing the noise whichever antenna I select and even without it being connected, so I presume it is some artifact generated internal...

Re: Anan 8000 fan noise

I'm not too technically minded so they're most likely to all sound like that when idling and the fan is on its lowest speed.

I'll check out that thread.

Thanks. :D

Anan 8000 fan noise

Hey guys, Bought an 8000 the other day and so far I'm rather impressed with it's signal cleanliness and tx audio quality. Especially for digital modes! Very clean. As it is quite a new unit I just wanted to clarify whether, when the fan is on its lowest speed, does the fan in your radios make a very...
