Re: Introducing the ANAN-8000DLE MKII

What happened to the 8000DLE MKII ad? Don´t see it anymore. Powersupply "noise" in this discussion refers to blower noise if I understand it right. I wouldn´t mind a little bit of blower or fan noise as long as the powersupply is "quiet" or let´s say "reasonably quiet" ...

Re: 7000DLE and foot switch in cw mode

Hello Norbert, I noticed that a couple of months ago when trying to operate CW with the footswitch. First I was worried that something has been broken until I switched back to phone and found all is working fine. So I tried all possible configurations including the space bar and yes all but the foot...

Re: 2018 QST Review ANAN-8000DLE

O.k. - I see the same numbers here while using the ANAN in Duplex mode. However I did some measurements with an external spectrum analyzer and see TX 3rd order IMD about 50 to 60 dB down (band dependent) with both methods as long as I run the ANAN-8000 barefoot and the jumper on the back of the radi...

Gary,

how did or how do you run the IM test on your ANAN-8000? Do you use the internal 2-tone test generator with Duplex function and peak hold?

Re: 2018 QST Review ANAN-8000DLE

Agree - I would have expected that the people responsible for the test results at least contact the manufacturer BEFORE publishing the results if the measured results are that far off from the specifications published by the manufacturer. At least this is what happened in the past with products from...

2018 QST Review ANAN-8000DLE

I just stumbled across a review of the ANAN-8000DLE in the April issue of the 2018 QST and was surprised about the 3rd order TX IM figures (@ 200 W output) listed there. The review can be found by clicking on the following link scrolling to the bottom and then click on "ANAN 8000DLE product rev...

Hi Norbert,

great phone "QSO" today - sure works faster!

As it might be interesting to the other folks as well meanwhile I got explicite confirmation from Apache Labs Support that the different settings of JP3 and JP7 (see earlier posts) are correct.

ANAN-8000 power supply (50 VDC converter) issue

Good evening, I recently had an issue with the 13,8VDC to 50 VDC stepup converter in my ANAN-8000. Can anyone check out how Jumper JP3 (BLANK) and Jumper JP7 (BLANK) are set on his/her board? JP7 is on the upper left corner while JP3 is at the bottom on the left. Unfortunately the application note f...

Re: Pure Signal & external amplifier

Finally I found the time to roughly translate my measurement notes for the following summary: The directional coupler in the ANAN has a coupling factor of about -49 dB (as measured with lab grade equipment). With 100 W output the automatic attenuator levels itself at -10 dB while transmitting which ...

Re: ANAN-8000 & PowerSDR - some notes, some questions

Thanks for the replies. As Gary pointed out the AGC, powersetting, waterfall levels etc. are changing whenever bands are changed. The only relation I found so far is the one described going from the lower to the higher band or vice versa. So if you set the levels for waterfall, power etc. lets say o...

Re: Pure Signal & external amplifier

I was aiming at a +10 dBm level at maximum output however wanted to start on the low side that´s why I included the additional 10 dB pad. The + 10 dBm are nothing magical but I found this level somewhere in wikidot/anan or the HPSDR website. Anyhow to make sure I measured the output level of the cou...

Pure Signal & external amplifier

2 weeks ago I built an rf-sampler to include my external amplifier in the predistortion loop. Without the amplifier in the loop but driving it with ANAN´s Pure Signal enabled I have seen 3rd order IMD down about 45 dB which is good enough any time however I wanted to push the envelope and find out w...

I am not using an ANAN-100 or an ANAN-7000 however it seems to be related to the HPSDR software anyway - the one in use here is mRX PS v3.4.9 Before I got my ANAN an ANAN user told me that the MNF function does not work. Until a few days I kind of had this accepted but curiosity made me look and try...

ANAN 7000/8000 - CAT interfaces and SO2R capability?

On behalf of a fellow ham who is interested in purchasing an ANAN I forward this question (see subject) in the hope to get an answer. I just got the info from another ham running an 8000DLE who uploaded v2.4 and he experienced the same problems. So he went back to v2.3 and all is fine. Therefore it is definitely a firmware bug.
