Re: Phase Rotator plug-ins?
LOL, yes I have heard similar comments with a lot of different elements of voice processing. I think if too much of anything is applied the natural sound of a person's voice is lost. There is no question that over-emphasis of certain areas of the voice range with the EQ can make things unpleasant a...

Re: Phase Rotator plug-ins?
Rob, I couldn't agree with you more. To me, ham radio is very much about "tinkering" and learning new things. Compression: With split-band compressors (very tricky and one can easily mangle the audio and sound unnatural) I have been able to create a "signature sound" that emphasi...

Re: Phase Rotator plug-ins?
Hi Rob,
I appreciate your feedback.
Now, I hear that when one uses phase rotators you might lose some of the "definition" of your audio. What that means (or doesn't) in the ham radio world may be another conversation.

Phase Rotator plug-ins?
All, I liked the Phase Rotator on the Aphex 230 Master Voice Channel ("strip") to deal with asymmetry in human voice. Yes, I realize that making the wave-form more "symmetrical" may not really increase "average speech power" but I would still want to play with Phase Rot...

Re: "Virtual Microphone Systems"
Hi Scott, I sure appreciate your response and with regard to virtual microphone systems and their incapability (in fact, like you say, it wouldn't be possible) to recreate anything other than the frequency response I agree with. Processing (EQ for instance) and where in the audio-chain it can be don...

"Virtual Microphone Systems"
Hi, I posted this in another sub-forum, but am re-posting here, adding a link to one of the companies that offer these "Virtual Microphone Systems" (sorry for the redundancy) as per suggestion by Scott. Also, I added a link (immediately below) that may help better understand what the diffe...

Re: "Virtual microphone system"
Hi Scott! Thanks a lot for your feed-back/comments and yes, I did see the other sub-forum and it might have been "better" to post there. I am not sure what the policy here concerning posting links to web pages of 3rd parties like those offering these "Virtual Microphone Systems" ...

"Virtual microphone system"
Hi, I am new to this forum and I see discussions relating to microphones with preferences expressed for this and that type of microphone. To me, right or wrong, the amount of money one wants to "splurge" on mics is also an individual preference. On principle, I would still want to invest i...
