Jeff, do you still see the S-ATT issue?

Re: RX1 or RX2 noise floor goes full scale on Ver 1.9

I am running a 7000DLE. Good question on what worked well last as we have had a few Thetis and firmware updates over the last couple of weeks it is hard to say.

Re: RX1 or RX2 noise floor goes full scale on Ver 1.9

No RX2 max rise of the spectrum so far, whether it is related to the spectrum level changing with PTT when in the S-ATT mode is unknown (and unknown really if it is P2 or Thetis.

It may very well be 2 separate issues we are seeing that causes the spectrum level to rise and fall drastically.

Rick is this supposed to address the ATT issue I noted? If it is then it did not fix it.

Re: RX1 or RX2 noise floor goes full scale on Ver 1.9

I am getting some real weirdness when I use S-ATT vs ATT on RX2. As I roll through the S-ATT from 0 to -31 the RX2 spectrum noise floor varies by 30 or more dB. But if I PTT the noise floor will recover to where it should be, until I adjust the S-ATT again. If I use ATT and adjust I do not have this...

Re: Thetis 2.6.4: Major New Release

2. I have seen the next behavior mentioned by at least one other but I'll report that I see it here too. After hitting the "Power" button in Thetis the shutdown takes ~8 seconds to complete. This is not a problem for me but just a different behavior from previous versions of Thetis. If it...

At least others are seeing this, I thought I was holding it wrong!

It's not frequent, and I am assuming we would need wireshark running the whole time until a crash??

1.8 causes Thetis to close during a PTT

OK, since updating from 1.7 to 1.8 yesterday, I have had Thetis (2.6.4) close on me when I hit the PTT. This has only happened twice so far. But it completely and immediately closes Thetis. To recover you simply restart Thetis. I am using a 7000DLE (not mark II).

Re: Quirks with Thetis

Well it's been many months so guess time to see if any updates are coming, specifically the issues I flagged in the original post: - No Panafall with RX2 - TX waterfall not adjustable - When using PL1 Midi the VFO window does not update smoothly, or not at all until VFO stops moving, specifically th...

Those buttons below the yellow line (that line I added on the image only) are all dedicated to RX2 controls.

Here is a screen shot of my 7000 on 2 bands on 2 different antennas. Did you click on the RX2 button (circled in yellow, upper left corner)? Once you do then the GUI expands (everything below the yellow line) to show RX2 controls, including the band selection (circled in yellow, lower left). RX2.PNG

Re: Anyone figure out how to modify or add band and frequency tags?

I put custom info in mine BUT it never ever gets imported when I import a database for some reason. I have found I can only do it to the database.xml file. I save a text file with my band data and have to manually copy and past into the database file every time that file is recreated.

Wonder if there is a mod path to update older boards, or is it not significant enough? I only run my 7000 @ 30W to drive my amp anyways.

Not a fan of that case style, but wonder what they did to get to these 2 listed improvements:

2. PA board improvements for higher duty cycle, 100% ICAS duty cycle supported.
3. Tx Signal generation redesigned to improve SNR at low power levels.

TX spectrum on RX1 is also maxing out on the spectrum scale during TX with the repo 1.6.

Re: 7000 and 8000 Protocol 2 users: what say you?

Just loaded the repo version of 1.6 (from the 1.6pre) and I get continuous Seq errors when I TX. Also RX2's baseline jumps up to the max scale. Only seems to happen with PS on.

Went back to 1.6pre and those issues went away.

Thanks Rick,

I have been using the 1.6pre and have held off using the latest on the repo due to reports, plus it was confusing which was which.

What does this version on 1.6 change vs the 1.6pre?

I do like the reduction in network load, it is down a lot from Protocol 1, plus you get a 10X network speed on top of all that!

Gary, I have also seen this PS issue on Thetis, but did not happen at all last night, but did earlier in the day. I will try your trick when it does.

As far as reporting issues, what is the best mechanism to do this?
