Re: Setup Problems ???

I am up and running with Protocol 1. The IP address is 192.168.0.122 as was assigned by DHCP. Thanks for your assistance.

Re: Setup Problems ???

I did install it each time. I would check to see it it reported the MAC address and then try to give it an IP Address that was not too far from others on the network. There was no option for DHCP only a static IP. There is only one NIC on the computer I'm using. The router starts assigning IP Addres...

Re: Setup Problems ???

I have tried this sequence 4 times and it fails each time. I first uninstalled the npcap and HPSDRBootloader then restarted the computer. Installed the npcap and restarted the conputer. Installed HPSDRBootloader and ran it assigning an IP address of 192.168.0.141. ran IP scanning program and not fin...

Re: Setup Problems ???

I have a new to me 7000 (blueface) and its not being seen on the network. DHCP is enabled by the router and the network port shows activity. HPSDRBootloader comes up with an error (missing dll). I have missed something.

JST-XH 4 pin connector

About a month ago I got my long awaited Hermes board. It uses a JST-XH 4 pin connector for power. Minimum order is about 50. Has anyone ordered some of these? I was thinking of placing an order next week.

Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance

I hope you like your Ryzen Core 7 - 1700, I have on too. The only Windows it will let me use is Windows 10. This thing is a DOG. My SDR box is an older 8 Core AMD with 16 Gig and Windows 7. It runs rings around the Ryzen. Worse yet I don't like Windows 10 (too much hide and seek). I have two older A...

Re: 8000 DLE with SPE 1K FA

Thanks Scott, It is working. The drive power is much less than I thought. I was thinking I needed 30 Watts and I'm using about half of that. I set the Cat tab to ID as TS-50, enabled the PTT Control and I used Com 1 at 9600-n-8-1. I have the PTT connected from the back of the transceiver to the PTT ...

Re: 8000 DLE with SPE 1K FA

Thanks for the info Scott.

I was under the impression I needed to tell the amp I was using a Flex.

I'll try the pin change. I'm NCS on the QCWA net in the morning but I'll try the changes in the afternoon.

SPE Expert Amp Interfacing

I'm trying to get this working and have not had much luck. I did get the amp to follow the radio via RS-232. I have tried DB9 DB15 Pin 5 Pin 4 Ground Pin 2 Pin 1 TX 232 Pin 3 Pin 9 RX 232 This let the amp follow the radio band changes but put the drive level at 100 percent. I could turn the output o...

I gave the latest download a try. The radio setup didn't show a 8000. It looks good on my hardware. It also has the German 40 Meter allocation not the US. Maybe I missed a setting.

Download the manual and click on the link. Get a cup of coffee/tea/water and start reading. The manual will tell you what you need to download and how to use it.

I got an error too. Kinda cryptic as I am new to the Arduino world. Lots of beeping when I plug in the USB cable. I downloaded 1.8.3 for Windows. I changed the board to Aduino Nano. I loaded the LCDtest.pde and clocked on the check icon (Verify). I get ERROR compiling for board Adruino Nano. Any tip...

Re: Lower lever for a usable computer.

I met those whammys when I was trying to get this going. I tried several times to get W7 install disk to boot and all it would do is hang. Linux would at least boot on Ubuntu 16.10. I went with Ubuntu 17.04 install (new for the Ryzen 7) and ran it on Linux for a month. I gave up and bought W10 and I...

Re: Lower lever for a usable computer.

Thanks Scott,
I have an AMD quad core with 8 Gig of memory for my rig control and logging computer. It has on board video so I's not too great in the Passmark test. I guess I should consider 8 cores and a decent video card.

Lower lever for a usable computer.

Hi All,
What is the lower lever for a usable computer that will handle the processing needed for an Anan 8000DLE? I read that an I3 is the minimum. Is there a Passmark rating to gauge this by? Where does the I3 rate?

Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance

The CPU mark is 11918, that is a Ryzen 7 1700 at about 3GHz. Inside temps are around 100 degrees. I'm not thrilled I needed to buy Windows 10 to make it work. I did want a better video card so I can use SDR Console with my HackRF and my LimeSDR.

Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance

Wow, I guess Scott had the need for speed. I finally have the Ryzen 7 going under Windows 10. The M2 is a 500GB as a main drive. I have 32GB of memory with a GTX 1060 6GB video card. I have not done any overclocking but I thought I would test this for grins and giggles. I got a PassMark Rating of 34...

Re: Serial port for logging and amp control

I'm using the amp with an Icom 9100 and the CIV port for band change. I will go with the serial port on the back of the amp for control and the logger will do the changes in the control program.

Serial port for logging and amp control

Almost 10 years ago, I had a Flex 3000 and used DDUtility for interfacing interfaces external to the radio. I'm using AC Log and have an SPE FA-1K amp I would like to use. Suggestions and advice are welcome.
