Re: Andromeda???
Hello. A short comment about RFI when the PC is built into the same enclosure as the radio. In the prototype I built and have used for > 2 years, I had no problems with RFI except some spurs from the Aries ATU. But I decided to connect the ATU only in the TX signal path. As I normally use resonant a...

Re: Receive Signal Overload
This problem I have had for a very long time with Thetis! To get back to normal I have to toggle Power OFF and ON. I think it has been mentioned several times on the forum.

Re: Andromeda MIC & CW KEY input reverse
It can also be that the connector on the ribbon cable is installed the wrong way. By cutting the cable and install a new connector the fault is corrected.

Re: Andromeda MIC & CW KEY input reverse
It must be the connector J2 that is turned 180 deg. This will swap the CW DOT/Dash with MicPTT/Mic Gnd. The signals to the RJ45Mic connector is also mixed up. Either the header on Andromeda or on the Orion MKII board is turned 180 deg.

Re: Apollo amp for 14-bit Hermes
Yes, of course I´ll do that but first the modifications must be done. As it is now, several components are very difficult to find and the new PA transistors are much better than the original RD16HHF1, specially on 50 MHz. The new firmware and source code for Apolo is also going to be published. 73, ...

Re: Apollo amp for 14-bit Hermes
I have discussed the publication of the production files with Endre and we agree that it should not be done now as, due to the prroblems to get many of the components, some modifications has to be done. But I think we also need to know if there are enough HAM´s that are interested in this project af...

Re: Apollo amp for 14-bit Hermes
Hi Scott. Please do not be so impatient, everything take time! I had the Apollo documentation on on an old HDD and had to find it. I first found only the .pdf files but now I also have found the Altium files. And Endre has been traveling, I reached him on the phone tonight and we discussed how to pr...

Re: Special Production Run Hermes 14 bit.
No, this is the original Apollo and we have done several updates after that. The latest tha Endre did was done in 2016. I have not heard anything from him but I can put the .pdf file on github.com/LA2NI
The software for the ATU is in the CPU on Apollo.

Re: Special Production Run Hermes 14 bit.
Hi Scott. As I mentioned, Endre,YO6OGJ did the latest PCB layout of my original Apollo project using Altium Designer. I have to contact him and ask if he can post it on github. I´ll come back with more informations later.

Re: Special Production Run Hermes 14 bit.
Hi. I just got aware of the new production of 14 bit Hermes boards and as Scott mentioned the Apollo board, I can inform that I have all the CAD documents in Altium Designer format for the latest layout of Apollo done by YO6OGJ, Endre. I have made 4 of this Apollo version and they all works fine. Th...

Re: Transmit oddity
I see nothing in RX mode. But Duplex is always ON due to Pure Signal. I have suspected that is might have something to do with Pure Signal. But I have never run without PS On for a long time!

I too see this "fault". And I have had it happen with different combinations both with Hermes/Apollo and the new Andromeda TRX.

Re: TX Signal Meter jumps to Fwd PWR on transmit
Hi Ernst.
The Andromeda Front Panel with an Arduino Nano Every is connected to one CAT port and the Aries ATU with an Arduino 33iot to another. But as I say this also happens when Hermes/Apollo is used without anything connected to the CAT ports.

Re: TX Signal Meter jumps to Fwd PWR on transmit
Hi Ernst. I do not know what Tmate 2 Console is but I have this problem all the time. I can set it to Fwd/SWR but it jumps to Fwd after the next PTT ore tune. I use Andromeda Prototype and latest version of Thetis. But I have seen this also when using my Hermes/Apollo and Thetis. I have tried to sav...

Re: ORION MK2 IMD3/5
I forgot to mention that it is possible to use Pure Signal locally if the feedback can not be taken from the transverter PA. Just use a splitter and attenuator from the output of Orion MK2 board and back to the PS input.

Re: ORION MK2 IMD3/5
First one comment to DJ1YR: The GALI51+ does not have 38-40 dB gain but only around 18 dB on HF. When 2 of them are in Push Pull the gain is 3 dB higher. Today I found the prototype I made for the new 5W PA using AFT05MS003NT1 in Push Pull and did some measurements on it using a Hermes with excellen...

Re: ORION MK2 IMD3/5
Hi Scott. Thanks for showing me this. As I am not following this forum I have not been aware of the wrongly installed transformers. I took a look at my version of the Orion MK2 board and it has T2 installed the wrong way around with the 50 Ohm side to the Gali-6+ amplifiers. And the center point (pi...

Re: Eq settings not saving
Hi. I have exactly the same problems after i started to use Thetis v.2.8.11 (10/20/20). I can not remember that this happened on earlier versions. And every time I press TUNE, and go back to TX, the power meter shows just FVD power even when it was set to FWD SWR just before. In TUNE it shows FWD SW...

Re: Recording of CQ announcement in Thetis.
Hi Scott, Joe.
Thank you both for the answers! I am going to test both possibilities but for me it seems as using N1NM is the most convenient solution.
Another problem easily solved by connecting this forum!

Recording of CQ announcement in Thetis.
I have tried to find out if it is possible to make a recording of a CQ announcement in Thetis and then transmit it to save our voice during a contest. I do not find anything in the Thetis manual and I can not remember if it has been discussed on the forums. The local group station, LA3T is going to ...

Hi All. I have not visited this forum for some time so I´ll try to answer some of the questions about Andromeda, specially the Front Panel. The 7 inch display that the Front Panel is made for is Newhaven PN: NHD-7.0-HDMI-HR-RSXP-CTU. It has all the connections placed on the back side of the control ...
