Re: Receive stutter

Just an update, though there seems to be nothing new on pihpsdr. I've been running PowerSDR 3.4.7 for most of the last month very successfully on a little windows tablet, basic quad core 3750 box. No wireless dropouts in the house unless i put something between it and the access point to physically ...

Stumped, looking for clues

I've been running pihpsdr through a pi unit built originally by K0JTA (his version 1). It's set up with 1.1.3 and runs very nicely except for a bug I can't figure out. Every 60 seconds, the receive or transmit stream is interrupted in a brief stutter that lasts about 1 second. I've described the iss...

Re: Receive stutter

Good thought on the ROKU box interrupting things, but it's many mhz away on the house wifi system, not on the dedicated shack wifi system that the pi is connected to. Still, I could power it off for a test. I repeated the test tonight of direct cabling into the 200D. No stutter, with the WiFi turned...

Re: Performance Issue with piHPSDR version 1.2.3

Hi Paul, I tried to upgrade to 1.2.3 also and see somewhat similar results. I always see a stuttering every 60 seconds like clockwork, but as I let the system run, I was seeing more and different stuttering similar to what you describe. Mine was a new build with fresh raspbian and followed the instr...

Re: 630m and 2200m support?

Hi Mike, good to see some reports of actual operation on the low bands. How much power do you get out of the ANAN-100 down there? Any issues with the transmitter heating up or anything? Do you use a LPF? WSPR is what I thought I would try as well, and maybe some cw. But first I need a transmit anten...

Re: 630m and 2200m support?

Just another data point. I got around to building a 630 meter LPF, down around -30 on the second harmonic and over -50 on the third. Ran the output of the rig into a dummy load on 75 meters and put a scope on it to look at the output swing as none of the metering I had claimed it would work down in ...

Re: 630m and 2200m support?

Hi Scott, Interesting on the attenuator settings. I was thinking that maybe there was attenuation in two different modules that was being selected. I put the HF-6 vertical with it's protection circuit into the RX2 port and tried diversity last night. I think it's working, but I get kind of odd resul...

Re: 630m and 2200m support?

Hi Scott, I don't think anyone has the right antenna for this - after all a half wave dipole would be 1000' long and need to be up 500' :o All the antennas in use are big compromises. So far I've had the best success with my 160 meter horizontal loop which is only 20' high at best. Classic cloud bur...

Re: 630m and 2200m support?

Hmmm, I can't get it to light up when I press it. Shouldn't we be able to define a band behind it?

Re: 630m and 2200m support?

Sorry about the noise issues - where are you roughly located? I've got a bunch of noise sources showing up down there, but was able to copy the station in Stow again and this time on PowerSDR when I fiddled with the gain, and removed a bunch of attenuation. Wondering which noise tools would help bri...

Re: 630m and 2200m support?

The station in Stow is WG2XSB. Apparently running about 40 watts into a 75 meter delta loop. There are also a number of NDB stations down below 500 khz that can be copied at various locations. Most run morse IDs. Here's a place to ID what you hear by frequency. http://www.dxinfocentre.com/ndb.htm 73...

Re: 630m and 2200m support?

Hi Scott, That sounds about like my experience with the UI, though I didn't know how to verify the filters and other switching. It was interesting that I couldn't copy the station in PowerSDR but could in cuSDR with the same antenna and hardware but could have been that something in the RF path was ...

630m and 2200m support?

I have an Anan 200D and with the imminent opening of the two new LoFer bands at 472-479, and 136Khz I'm wondering if the 200D is usable down at those frequencies. I've been doing some testing and found some stations (Stow, MA primarily on 471) that I can copy on my existing antennas using an rsp1 an...

Re: Receive stutter

That looks fairly complicated for my meager understanding of linux at this point. Perhaps in the future. I had been more interested in running 5 ghz when I didn't know the rf space conditions on 2.4 at my site. Now that I know they are pretty clean, and that 2.4 runs ok with other computers, the nee...

Re: Receive stutter

Thanks for the quick reply Scott! Yeah, mobility is the goal with these things I'd say. If it's going to sit in the shack, I might as well use the big computer and it's multiple monitors. I want to emulate your use case as so eloquently depicted in that nice picture. ;) My wireless access point is a...

Receive stutter

I recently acquired a nicely assembled piHPSDR unit and have been enjoying it a lot. However I've noticed a quirk that I'm wondering if others have experienced. My primary use for the unit is to run my Anan 200D remotely from other places in the house. The 200D is on a gigabit switch/wireless router...
